Street Stall: Friday 23rd March, 10am – 12 noon, Westwood Cross
Laura Sandys, MP for South Thanet and Sandwich, is holding a ‘Big Switch’ street stall this Friday at Westwood Cross in partnership with Which? to help consumers negotiate a better deal on their energy bills.
The campaign has already attracted over 200,000 signatures and aims to harness the benefits of ‘collective switching’. On behalf of thousands of customers, Which? will bargain with gas and electricity suppliers in the hope of securing cheaper tariffs.
Laura said: “The Big Switch campaign will see British consumers coming together for the first time to call on the energy companies for lower energy deals. As the Conservative Ambassador, I’ve teamed up with Which? to bring this project to our doorstep and would like to encourage residents to drop by the stall we’re holding this Friday at Westwood Cross to sign-up.
“I know that many families across Thanet are really struggling to pay their bills as their household incomes are squeezed. When energy companies have been reporting high profits, it seems particularly unfair that potential savings aren’t being passed onto customers. The Big Switch offers energy companies an opportunity to show they’re committed to fairness and are providing the best rates for hard-pressed families.”
If you are unable to drop by the stall at Westwood Cross this Friday, you can sign-up online at: https://www.whichbigswitch.co.uk/
